Padang Pahlawan Bandar Hilir, Melaka
Tunku Abdul Rahman announced the independence of Malaya or Tanah Melayu on 20 February 1956. The announcement was made in front of 50,000 people at Padang Pahlawan, Bandar Hilir, Melaka. Malaya officially gained independence from British on 31 August 1957. Today, this historical field is known as Dataran Pahlawan. |
