Narwhal – Unicorn of the Sea
A Narwhal is a very unique type of whale. The male has a left tooth that grows into a long spiraling tusk. It can grow up to 1.8 metres. Unlike the elephant’s tusk, a narwhal’s tusk cannot grow again if it is broken.The name narwhal comes from an old Norse word, which means corpse-like. This is because its skin colour is grey and white like a corpse.
