Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj
Do you know that Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj ibni Almarhum Sultan Abdul Hamid Halim Shah is the first Prime Minister of Malaysia? Tunku was the Prime Minister of Malaysia from 31st August 1957 to 22nd September 1970.
In 1954, he led the delegation to seek Malaya’s Independence. (Malaysia was previously known as Malaya) Malaysia gained Independence on 31 August 1957.
Tunku was born on 8th February 1903 in Kedah.
Tunku died on 6th December 1990, at the age of 87. His body was laid to rest at the Langgar Royal Mausoleum in Alor Setar, Kedah.
